Wyoming Cowboys Take Down CSU Rams In Border War
Laramie, WY - War Memorial Stadium played host to the annual Border War on Saturday, November 5th, as the Wyoming Cowboys took on the Colorado State Rams
The Cowboys, coming off a tough loss to Utah State, were looking to get back on track and improve their record to 7-3, while the Rams, who were 3-6, were looking to upset their rivals and become bowl eligible.
The game started out as a defensive battle, with both teams struggling to move the ball. The Cowboys finally broke through late in the second quarter, when quarterback Andrew Peasley connected with wide receiver Isaiah Neyor for a 25-yard touchdown pass, giving Wyoming a 7-0 lead.
The Rams answered back early in the third quarter, when quarterback Clay Millen found wide receiver David Bailey for a 30-yard touchdown pass, tying the game at 7-7.
The Cowboys then took control of the game in the fourth quarter, scoring two touchdowns to take a 21-7 lead. The Rams were able to add a late touchdown, but it was not enough, as the Cowboys held on to win 21-14.
The Cowboys were led by Peasley, who completed 18 of 29 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns. Neyor was the leading receiver for the Cowboys, with six catches for 102 yards and a touchdown.
The Rams were led by Millen, who completed 17 of 30 passes for 196 yards and a touchdown. Bailey was the leading receiver for the Rams, with five catches for 95 yards and a touchdown.
The win improved the Cowboys' record to 7-3, while the Rams fell to 3-7. The Cowboys will be back in action next Saturday, when they travel to Fresno, California, to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs. The Rams will be back in action next Saturday, when they host the Air Force Falcons.
