UK's Border to Coast committed £1.3m to fund four new projects in the North West
£1.3m funding commitment for four new projects has been made by the UK's Border to Coast programme.
The four projects will receive £125k to £400k each, with work beginning as early as April 2023.
The projects aim to create new opportunities, develop skills, and improve access to employment and training in the North West of England.
The projects include:
- A £400,000 investment in Lancaster University to develop a new skills programme for the creative and digital sectors.
- A £300,000 investment in the University of Central Lancashire to create a new centre for advanced manufacturing.
- A £250,000 investment in the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to develop a new programme to support people into employment.
- A £125,000 investment in the Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership to create a new skills programme for the tourism sector.
The Border to Coast programme is a £375 million investment from the UK government to support economic growth in the North West of England.
The programme is managed by the North West Development Agency and is part of the government's wider commitment to the Northern Powerhouse.
