Tree of Light goes green at Market Drayton

Residents can honour loved ones and support charity at the same time with the return of Market Drayton’s Tree of Lights.

The Tree of Lights is a festive and poignant way to remember loved ones, with each light dedicated to someone special. This year, the Tree of Lights will be greener than ever before, with all donations going towards planting a tree at Darwin Park in Market Drayton.

The Tree of Lights is a collaboration between Market Drayton Town Council, the Rotary Club of Market Drayton and the town’s business community.

For a suggested donation of £5, you can dedicate a light on the Tree of Lights in memory of a loved one, with the name of your loved one being read out at the official switch-on ceremony.

Last year, the Tree of Lights raised over £2,000 for local charities, and is expected to raise even more this year.

The Tree of Lights will be located in the Market Square in Market Drayton, and will be lit up from Thursday, December 1, 2022, until Sunday, January 1, 2023.

To dedicate a light on the Tree of Lights, please visit the Market Drayton Town Council website or contact the Rotary Club of Market Drayton.
