Hardy handed first Wales call-up as replacement for injured Williams
Tomos Williams has been ruled out of Wales’ autumn campaign through injury, with Kieran Hardy called up as his replacement.
Williams picked up a shoulder problem in Cardiff’s United Rugby Championship defeat by the Bulls last weekend and will now miss Wales’ Tests against New Zealand, Argentina, Georgia and Australia.
Bristol Bears scrum-half Hardy has been brought into the squad for the first time, having impressed for his club this season.

The 25-year-old has scored three tries in seven appearances for Bristol this season and has been a key part of their strong start to the campaign.
He has also been capped by Wales at Under-20 level and was part of the squad that won the Six Nations title in 2016.
Hardy will now get the chance to stake his claim for a place in Wales’ starting line-up for the autumn Tests.
Williams is a big loss for Wales
Williams has been a key player for Wales in recent years, winning 31 caps since making his debut in 2017.
He was part of the Wales team that reached the semi-finals of the 2019 Rugby World Cup and was also a member of the squad that won the Six Nations title in 2021.
