"After yesterday's technical problems, RTL has decided not to broadcast the program The Big Escape," said the spokesperson. "We regret this very much, but the safety of the participants and crew is paramount."

In "The Big Escape", a group of well-known Dutch people were stranded on a desert island and had to survive there. Other participants in the program were Monica Geuze, Carlo Boszhard and Loretta Schrijver.

RTL is looking into what went wrong

RTL is currently investigating what went wrong on Monday evening. The broadcaster does not yet know when the program will return.

"We apologize to the participants, crew and viewers of The Big Escape," said the spokesperson. "We understand that this is a great disappointment, but we hope for everyone's understanding."
