Belfast drivers urged to plan ahead as PSNI warn of various road closures

The PSNI have issued a warning to drivers in Belfast, urging them to plan ahead as there will be various road closures across the city this weekend. The closures are due to a number of events taking place in the city, including the Belfast Marathon and the Titanic 110 Commemoration.

Belfast Marathon to cause significant disruption

The Belfast Marathon will take place on Sunday 2nd May, and will cause significant disruption to traffic in the city centre. A number of roads will be closed from 7am until 5pm, including Donegall Square North, Chichester Street, and Victoria Street. Drivers are advised to avoid the city centre if possible, or to use public transport.

Titanic 110 Commemoration to also cause disruption

The Titanic 110 Commemoration will also cause some disruption to traffic in Belfast on Saturday 1st May. A number of roads around the Titanic Quarter will be closed from 10am until 6pm, including Queen's Road, Titanic Boulevard, and Hamilton Road. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes if possible.

PSNI urge drivers to plan ahead

The PSNI are urging drivers to plan ahead for the road closures this weekend. They advise drivers to check the latest traffic information before they travel, and to allow extra time for their journeys.
