Portugal player ratings vs Poland: Cristiano Ronaldo puts the cherry on top!
Icon's awesome bicycle kick rounds off comfortable win after Bruno Fernandes & Rafael Leao strike in five-star showing for Roberto Martinez's men
Bouncing back from a stuttering Nations League campaign, Portugal put five past Poland in a brilliant display.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Rafael Leao were all on target as Roberto Martinez's men moved up to second in Group A4.
Ronaldo scored a stunning bicycle kick to add to goals from Fernandes, Leao and Goncalo Guedes before Joao Felix completed the rout.
The result eased the pressure on Martinez and ended a run of two defeats in three Nations League matches, with Portugal moving level on points with Poland but with a superior goal difference.
Portugal dominated from the start and took the lead after 32 minutes when Fernandes curled in a free-kick after Jakub Kiwior had brought down Otavio just outside the area.
Fernandes has now scored five goals in his last six international appearances and is proving to be a key player for Portugal under Martinez.
Rafael Leao doubled the lead 10 minutes later with a fine individual goal.
He picked up the ball on the left flank, drove inside and fired a low shot into the bottom corner.
Guedes made it 3-0 just before the break, tapping in from close range after Ronaldo had headed in a cross from Joao Cancelo.
Ronaldo then got on the scoresheet himself with a stunning bicycle kick in the 62nd minute.
The Manchester United forward met a cross from Diogo Dalot with a spectacular overhead kick that flew into the top corner.
It was a goal worthy of winning any game and it all but sealed the win for Portugal, moving them ahead of Poland in the Group A4 standings.
Joao Felix added a fifth goal in the 72nd minute, heading in from close range after a cross from Cancelo.
It was a comprehensive win for Portugal, who showed the quality they possess and will be a threat to anyone in the Nations League.
