Pistons' Simone Fontecchio likely out against Toronto

Detroit forward could miss Monday's matchup against the Raptors

Fontecchio has been dealing with a right hamstring injury

Detroit Pistons forward Simone Fontecchio is likely to miss Monday's game against the Toronto Raptors due to a right hamstring injury, according to head coach Dwane Casey.

Fontecchio suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. He underwent an MRI on Sunday, which revealed a Grade 1 strain.

Casey said Fontecchio is day-to-day, but it's unlikely he'll be able to play against the Raptors. The Pistons will re-evaluate him later this week.

The injury is a blow to the Pistons, who are already without several key players, including Cade Cunningham, Isaiah Stewart, and Jaden Ivey.

Fontecchio has been a key contributor for the Pistons this season, averaging 8.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He's also shooting 38.9% from three-point range.

In Fontecchio's absence, the Pistons will likely start Saddiq Bey at small forward. Bey has been averaging 12.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game this season.

The Pistons will also need more production from their bench, which has been struggling lately. Hamidou Diallo, Kevin Knox, and Isaiah Livers will all need to step up in Fontecchio's absence.

The Pistons are 11-31 this season and are currently in last place in the Eastern Conference. They'll be looking to snap a four-game losing streak when they host the Raptors on Monday.
