MotoGP™ confirms rescheduled first test of 2025 at Barcelona

MotoGP™ testing action to return to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

IRTA and Dorna Sports confirm that the first test of the 2025 MotoGP™ season will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from 23rd to 25th March 2025.

The test was originally scheduled to take place at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, but due to ongoing travel restrictions and logistical challenges, the decision was made to move the test to Europe. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is a familiar venue for MotoGP™ testing, having hosted the first test of the 2023 season. The track is well-suited to testing, with a variety of corners and straights that provide a good test of a bike's performance. The test will be the first opportunity for teams to test their new bikes for the 2025 season. It will also be an opportunity for riders to get some track time ahead of the first race of the season, which is scheduled to take place at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar on 13th April 2025. All 22 riders from the 2024 MotoGP™ season are expected to take part in the test, as well as some test riders. The test will be closed to the public, but fans will be able to follow the action on MotoGP.com and on social media.
