Marler: Nobody scrums like the Boks
Harlequins prop Joe Marler believes that there is no better scrummaging team in the world than South Africa.
Marler, who has won 71 caps for England, was speaking ahead of his side's Premiership clash with the Springboks on Saturday.
“They are the best scrummaging team in the world,” Marler said. “They have been for a long time and they are not going to change. They are very physical, they are very well-coached and they are very experienced. We are going to have to be at our best to get anything out of this game.”
The Springboks are renowned for their physicality and their scrummaging ability. They have won the World Cup three times, and they are the current world champions.
Marler knows that Harlequins will have to be at their best if they want to beat the Springboks. He said: “We are going to have to be very physical. We are going to have to be very disciplined. We are going to have to be very accurate. If we can do those things, then we have a chance of winning.”
