Luis de la Fuente eases injury fears for Spain pair after Denmark victory

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente has eased injury fears for Pedri and Gavi after the pair were substituted during the 3-0 friendly win over Denmark on Tuesday

Pedri was taken off in the first half with a knock to his knee, while Gavi was replaced in the second half with a muscle problem.

De la Fuente, however, is hopeful that both players will be fit for Spain's next match against Switzerland on Saturday

"Pedri has a knock to his knee, but it's not serious," De la Fuente said after the game. "He'll be assessed further tomorrow, but I'm hopeful he'll be fit for Saturday.

"Gavi has a muscle problem, but again, it's not serious. He'll also be assessed further tomorrow, but I'm hopeful he'll be fit for Saturday.

The injuries to Pedri and Gavi are a concern for Spain, who are already without a number of key players.

Sergio Busquets, Aymeric Laporte, and Ansu Fati are all out injured, while Jordi Alba is suspended for the match against Switzerland.

However, De la Fuente is confident that his team can cope without these players.

"We have a strong squad, and I'm confident that we can still win without these players," De la Fuente said.

"We'll have to make some changes, but I'm sure that the players who come in will do a good job.

"We're looking forward to the match against Switzerland, and we're confident that we can get a good result.
