Japan boss' deep analysis of Celtic - and what it taught him about Kyogo
Samurai Blue coach Hajime Moriyasu watched on as Ange Postecoglou's team thrashed Ross County 4-0 at Celtic Park last month
Celtic's blistering start to the season has caught the eye of Japan boss Hajime Moriyasu - and he reckons their style of play could benefit Kyogo Furuhashi on the international stage.
Moriyasu watched on as Ange Postecoglou's team thrashed Ross County 4-0 at Celtic Park last month and was impressed by what he saw.
'Celtic's style suits Kyogo'
"I watched Celtic's game against Ross County and I was very impressed," Moriyasu said.
"They play a very attacking style of football, which is very similar to the way we want to play with Japan.
"I think this style of play suits Kyogo very well. He's a player who loves to get on the ball and run at defenders, and he's also very good at finishing."
'Kyogo can be a key player for Japan'
Kyogo has been in impressive form for Celtic this season, scoring seven goals in his first eight appearances.
He's also been capped 14 times by Japan, scoring three goals.
"Kyogo is a very important player for us," Moriyasu said. "He's a player who can make a difference in games.
"I think he can be a key player for us at the World Cup in Qatar."
