Gary Oldman to read special CBeebies Bedtime Story

Gary Oldman is to read a special CBeebies Bedtime Story to mark Bonfire Night.

The Oscar-winning actor will read The Firework-Maker's Daughter by Philip Pullman, which tells the tale of a young girl who dreams of becoming a firework-maker like her father.

The special episode will air on CBeebies on November 5 at 6.50pm.

Oldman said: "I'm very excited to be reading The Firework-Maker's Daughter for CBeebies Bedtime Stories. It's a beautiful story about following your dreams and never giving up."

Cheryl Taylor, head of content for CBeebies, said: "We're delighted to have Gary Oldman reading a Bedtime Story for us. He's such a talented actor and we know that our viewers will love hearing him read this magical story."

The Firework-Maker's Daughter is one of a number of special Bedtime Stories that will be broadcast on CBeebies in the coming weeks.
