Frank Warren sets the record straight on the likelihood of an Anthony Joshua rematch for Daniel Dubois in 2025
Anthony Joshua is not in Daniel Dubois' plans for 2025, according to Frank Warren
Anthony Joshua will not be facing Daniel Dubois in a rematch in 2025, according to Frank Warren. Dubois lost to Joshua in 2020, but Warren believes that a rematch is not on the cards for the next few years.
Warren told Sky Sports: "I don't think that's going to happen in 2025. I think Daniel has got a lot of other options. He's got to win a world title first and foremost. Then we'll see what happens. But I don't think that's going to happen in 2025."
Dubois is currently the WBA (Regular) heavyweight champion, and is expected to face Jermaine Franklin next. Joshua, meanwhile, is set to fight Tyson Fury in a blockbuster undisputed heavyweight title fight in 2023.
Warren also discussed Dubois' potential future opponents
As well as Franklin, Warren also mentioned Joe Joyce and Deontay Wilder as potential opponents for Dubois in the future.
"There's a lot of other options out there for Daniel," Warren said. "Joe Joyce is a good fight. Deontay Wilder is a good fight. There's plenty of other options out there for Daniel. We'll just have to see what happens."
It remains to be seen who Dubois will face in the ring next, but it is clear that a rematch with Joshua is not on the agenda for 2025.
