Essex Police sets up major crimes 'gold group' to lead Allison Pearson probe

Detectives leading the investigation into the murder of Allison Pearson have set up a major crimes ‘gold group’ to help catch her killer.

The group, made up of experienced detectives, will be responsible for overseeing the investigation and bringing together all the strands of the inquiry.

They will be working closely with specialist teams, including forensic scientists and intelligence officers, to build a comprehensive picture of what happened in the lead-up to Allison’s death.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Hall, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a complex and challenging investigation, and we are determined to bring Allison’s killer to justice.”

“The ‘gold group’ will provide us with the focus and expertise we need to achieve this.”

Allison, 21, was last seen alive on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at around 11pm, in the Waltham Abbey area of Essex.

Her body was found two days later in woodland near Abridge, Essex.

A post-mortem examination found that she had died from multiple stab wounds.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about Allison’s death to come forward.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw her on the night she disappeared, or who has any information about her movements in the days leading up to her death.
