Emotional Katie Taylor thanks her 'biggest supporter' mum ahead of fight
Katie Taylor has paid a heartfelt tribute to her "biggest supporter" - her mum Bridget - ahead of her undisputed world lightweight title fight this weekend.
The Bray Bomber goes toe-to-toe with Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night in what is being dubbed as the biggest fight in women's boxing history.
And in a new video released by Sky Sports, Taylor said her mum has been her "rock" throughout her career.
"My mum has always been my biggest supporter," said Taylor.
"She's the one who has always been there for me, no matter what."
"She's the one who has always believed in me, even when I didn't believe in myself."
"She's my biggest fan and my best friend."
"I'm so grateful for everything she's done for me."
"I wouldn't be where I am today without her."
Taylor also revealed that her mum will be in her corner on Saturday night.
"She's going to be there to support me," said Taylor.
"She's going to be there to give me advice."
"And she's going to be there to celebrate with me after I win."
Taylor's mum Bridget said she is "so proud" of her daughter.
"She's worked so hard to get to where she is today," said Bridget.
"She's a true inspiration."
"I'm so excited for her fight on Saturday night."
"I know she's going to win."
