Craig Bellamy: Going to Turkey is perfect preparation for World Cup qualifiers
Former Wales international says Turkish Super Lig will help players adapt to different styles
Bellamy believes the physicality of the league will also be beneficial
Former Wales international Craig Bellamy believes that playing in the Turkish Super Lig will be the perfect preparation for the country's upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Bellamy, who played for Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United during his career, is now a pundit for Sky Sports.
He said: "I think it's a great move for the Welsh players. The Turkish Super Lig is a very competitive league, and it will help them to adapt to different styles of play.
Also, the physicality of the league will be beneficial. Wales will play against some of the best teams in the world in the qualifiers, so they need to be prepared for a physical battle.
I'm sure the Welsh players will learn a lot from their time in Turkey, and it will help them to be successful in the qualifiers.
Wales have been drawn in Group E for the World Cup qualifiers, alongside Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia and Belarus.
