Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Put French Chateau Miraval Back on the Market
Jolie and Pitt Release Statement
Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have relisted their French estate, Chateau Miraval, for $56 million. The estate was originally purchased by the couple in 2008 for $28.3 million. In a joint statement, Pitt and Jolie said, "It is a magical place where we have created many memories and shared many laughs. We hope that the next owners will cherish it as much as we have."
Chateau Miraval History
Chateau Miraval is a historic estate located in the village of Correns in Provence, France. The property dates back to the 13th century and has been owned by many notable figures throughout history, including King René of Anjou and Queen Joan of Naples. The estate's vineyards have been producing wine since the 16th century.
In 2008, Pitt and Jolie purchased Chateau Miraval and began a major renovation of the property. They added a new pool, tennis court, and gym, and planted new vineyards. The couple also began producing their own wine, Miraval Rosé, which has become one of the most popular rosé wines in the world.
Sale of Chateau Miraval
Pitt and Jolie sold Chateau Miraval in 2014 to a Russian oligarch for $60 million. However, the sale was later annulled due to a legal dispute. The couple relisted the property in 2016 for $56 million, but it was taken off the market in 2017.
The estate is now back on the market for $56 million. The sale is being handled by Christie's International Real Estate. The property is expected to attract a lot of interest from potential buyers, given its history, location, and amenities.
