Belfast City Centre Roads to Close as Christmas Lights Switch-On Takes Place
Traffic Disruptions Expected as Crowds Gather for Festive Event

Belfast city centre roads will be closed on Thursday evening as the city's Christmas lights are officially switched on.
The festive event will take place in Donegall Square from 5pm, with a host of entertainment and activities planned.
However, a number of roads in the city centre will be closed to traffic from 3pm to 9pm to facilitate the event.
The following roads will be affected:
- Donegall Place
- Royal Avenue
- North Street
- High Street
- Arthur Square
- Castle Place
- Waring Street
- Upper Queen Street
- Lower Queen Street
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during this time.
The Christmas lights switch-on is a popular event in Belfast, attracting thousands of people to the city centre.
The event will feature live music, street entertainment, and a fireworks display.
The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Tina Black, will officially switch on the lights at 7pm.
The Christmas lights will remain in place until January 6, 2023.
