Florida will travel to Georgia Tech on Saturday, January 14, to face the Yellow Jackets.
Gators' Football Coach Billy Napier Hired
The University of Florida has named Billy Napier as its next head football coach, the university announced on November 28, 2021.
The hire comes after the firing of former coach Dan Mullen the week before.
Napier was previously the head coach at Louisiana-Lafayette, where he led the Ragin' Cajuns to a 39-12 record in four seasons.
He also led the team to three Sun Belt Conference championships and two New Orleans Bowl victories.
Napier is a native of Cartersville, Georgia, and played quarterback at Furman University.
He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Clemson University.
Napier's hiring is expected to bring a new level of excitement to the Florida football program.
The Gators have not won an SEC championship since 2008 and have not reached the College Football Playoff.
Napier will be formally introduced at a press conference on Monday, November 29.
