Boxing: Exhibition bout at Hard Rock Stadium

46-year-old YouTube star Jake Paul defeated boxing legend Mike Tyson via an eight-round split decision Saturday night at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. After eight rounds, two of the three judges scored the fight 75-74 and 76-74 in favor of Paul, while one judge had it 77-74 for Tyson.

There were no knockdowns in the fight, but Paul was the more active fighter throughout the fight, landing 71 punches compared to Tyson's 55. Paul was also the more accurate fighter, landing 39% of his punches compared to Tyson's 25%.

“This is the greatest moment of my life,” said Paul after the fight. “I've been training my a** off for this and I knew I could do it.” Paul said he now wants to fight Tommy Fury, who is the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

“I'm just happy I got to share the ring with Mike Tyson,” said Paul. “He's a legend and I have so much respect for him.”

Tyson, who turns 59 next month, said he was “disappointed” with his performance but praised Paul for his effort. “He's a tough kid,” said Tyson about Jake Paul. “He's got a lot of heart.”

The fight was not without controversy. Some boxing fans criticized the fight as a mismatch, as Tyson is a former heavyweight champion and Paul is a YouTube star with limited boxing experience. However, Paul has been training for over two years and has knocked out all of his previous opponents.

The fight was also criticized for its lack of action. There were no knockdowns and very few significant punches landed. However, the fight did generate a lot of interest and was a major spectacle.

In the end, Paul defeated Tyson via an eight-round split decision. It was a controversial decision, but Paul showed that he is a serious boxer and he is here to stay.
