Alex Lloyd Commits to Florida Basketball

Lloyd Brings Scoring, Energy to Gators

Gainesville, Fla. –

The Florida Gators men's basketball program has added another piece to its 2023 recruiting class with the official signing of Alex Lloyd. A 6-foot-6, 210-pound wing from Orlando, Lloyd is a consensus four-star recruit and one of the top prospects in the state of Florida. He is ranked No. 66 overall in the ESPN 100 and No. 21 among small forwards.

Lloyd is a versatile player who can score in a variety of ways. He is a good shooter, both from three-point range and off the dribble. He is also a skilled passer and rebounder. As a senior at Dr. Phillips High School, Lloyd averaged 18.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while leading his team to a 24-5 record and a berth in the FHSAA Class 7A state semifinals.

Lloyd is expected to make an immediate impact on the Gators. He has the size and skill to play either forward position, and he should be able to contribute right away. He is a high-energy player who is always hustling, and he is a very good defender. Lloyd is also a good teammate and a hard worker. Lloyd is the fourth player to sign with the Gators for the 2023 class, joining fellow four-star recruits Denzel Aberdeen, Malik Reneau, and Jaden Gardner. The Gators are expected to have a strong recruiting class in 2023, and Lloyd is a big part of that class.
