7220sports Kickoff Show: Can UW Make it Four in a Row over Rams?
The Wyoming Cowboys football team will open their 2023 season on the road against the Colorado State Rams.
The Cowboys are looking to extend their winning streak over the Rams to four games. UW has won the last three meetings between the two schools, including a 31-17 victory in Laramie last season.
The Rams are coming off of a 3-9 season in 2022.
They return 18 starters from that team, including quarterback Clay Millen and wide receiver David Bailey. Millen passed for 2,415 yards and 16 touchdowns last season, while Bailey caught 60 passes for 793 yards and six touchdowns.
The Cowboys will be looking to improve on their 7-5 record from last season.
They return 10 starters from that team, including quarterback Andrew Peasley and running back Titus Swen. Peasley passed for 2,187 yards and 18 touchdowns last season, while Swen rushed for 1,282 yards and 15 touchdowns.
The game will be played on Saturday, August 26th at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. MT.
