Selection Show Sets Stage for March Madness
64 Teams to Vie for National Title
The field of 64 teams for the 2024 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship has been announced, with the selection show setting the stage for March Madness.
The tournament will begin with first-round games on Nov. 10, with the semifinals set for Dec. 1 and the championship game scheduled for Dec. 3.
The top 16 seeds in the tournament will receive a bye into the second round, while the remaining 48 teams will play in the first round.
The tournament will be played at 16 campus sites across the country, with the semifinals and championship game to be held at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
The defending national champion is the University of North Carolina, which defeated the University of Virginia in the 2023 championship game.
Other notable teams in the field this year include the University of Florida, the University of Southern California, and the University of Stanford.
The tournament will be televised on ESPN and ESPN2, with the championship game to be broadcast on ABC.
